Sleeping bag accessories
Nowadays, the sleeping bag comes with some accessories that enable you to carry lighter and smaller luggage while still getting warmer camping conditions. Common accessories are as follows:
1. Head pocket: In fact, about 50% of the heat lost during sleep is lost through the head. And a proper head pocket can just prevent this part of the heat loss. Especially for sleeping bags used in low temperature conditions, head pockets are a must. Therefore, if you feel it is necessary, you’d better choose a comfortable, warm, and easy-to-size headband.
2. Partition collar: This is a ring of padding fixed to the inside of the sleeping bag about the shoulders, which can prevent heat loss. This kind of partition collar is generally more common in sleeping bags used in colder conditions.
3. Strip closure: This is a tube structure filled with temperature-insulating material sewn on the edge of the sleeping bag zipper. Its function is to prevent heat from being lost through the slits of the zipper. Similarly, this strip closure is commonly found in sleeping bags used in colder conditions.
